The Data Incubator, an alumnus company of the Runway Startup Postdoc Program at the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute, announced a merger with Pragmatic Marketing, the authority on product management and marketing training, to form the Pragmatic Institute.

The Data Incubator, founded by Michael Li, is a data science education company that provides real-world, hands-on experience and training to data scientists looking to transition from academia to industry or to improve their skills.

A release issued by the company said: “The new Pragmatic Institute will combine the expertise of these two companies to create a single source for comprehensive, hands-on training in product management, product marketing and data science.”

“The Runway Startup Postdoc Program at the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute provided a great opportunity for scientists to commercialize their knowledge,” said Li, part of the inaugural January 2014 cohort of the Runway Program. “The program was instrumental in helping launch The Data Incubator and the lessons I learned and the connections I have made will last a lifetime. I am excited about this new phase of our journey with Pragmatic Institute as we combine our respective expertise in product marketing and data science to reach new audiences and train the workforce to be ready for the digital and AI economy.”
