Innovating on Campus Technology

The Cornell Tech campus embodies the innovative spirit of the students, faculty, and researchers that reside within it.

Study Spaces

The Bloomberg Center provides different spaces for every learning mode. There is room for teams to spread out, create things, and put ideas into action — and there is room for private, quiet, deep work, and research. Spaces include classrooms, labs, a lecture hall, huddle rooms, collaboration areas, conference rooms, The Café, open work areas, quiet rooms, and micro-pods.

The Café

Open to the public, the Café is a major gathering space and also a great place to grab a strong espresso. Menu options change daily, featuring gluten-free flat-breads, noodle bowls, heirloom tomato salads, and more. One thing is always on the menu: Cornell Dairy’s famous ice cream.

Setting a New World Standard for Sustainability

The Bloomberg Center pioneers new standards of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in its award-winning design by Thom Mayne of Morphosis. An all-electric building, it is among the largest academic buildings in the world designed for net-zero energy consumption. The building design uses solar arrays, a green roof, geothermal wells, smart building technology, and innovative insulation to meet its energy goals.

Technology, Art, and Sustainability

From afar, the Bloomberg Center’s iconic façade contains 337,500 pixelated tabs created by a repurposed welding robot. The robot’s algorithm was developed in collaboration with Cornell Tech faculty.
